Outhouse Day

During the reunion, Aunt Stella told us about her excitement as a young teenager when her family first got the outhouse. They were really moving on up! Grandpa Everett, a few years older than Stella, would have been in High School already when this day came. Amazing!

(The photo at left is a reenactment 0f an earlier time.)

Adoring Fans

Many adoring fans came out for the festivities including Cousin Mike, Grandpa Hamp, all the sisters, their husbands and Mom & Dad.

Waving Good-Bye

Lera made some great friends at Pepperdine among her classmates and teachers. Sadly, it was time to "wave" good-bye!

Bright eyes

Lera received a departmental award from her teacher, LeeAnn Carroll.

Both Lera and Janaye aced their semesters landing 4.0's! Way to go bright eyes!

Family Enmeshment

Good article over at Mike Cope's new blog about enmeshment in families. Anyone care (dare) to comment on our own?

A Dead Relatives Society

Awhile back, I talked with some of you about a Dead Relatives tour. I'm thinking about it again now that my cousins have announced a formal Danley Cousins Reunion in Florence, AL, the weekend of July 1-2. What I may do is combine a business trip (to Kentucky, June 27-30) with some vacation time between July 1-4 and move around Tennessee and Alabama depending on who else wants to do this with me.

The Dead Relatives Tour combines the spirit of the Dead Poets Society with genealogical research. Those involved might choose a person in their past to research and present stories to the tour group while visiting historically significant sites.

For me, I'm interested in my religious and cultural roots as well as my biological ones.

I mean, really. Why should I limit myself to history tours that tell me about military generals, natural landmarks and eccentric inventors?

Blogged.

I finally got around to posting a Christmas entry at Meet the Tatums.

We've also had most of our pics up for a while at our Flickr site.

Enjoy.
